We loved Fairway Market so much last weekend that we went to another one in Red Hook, Brooklyn on Friday. With the sunny weather and the great view of the bay at our side, the day turned out to be an awesome tour stop. We learned that Fairway shoppers can shuck their corn right at the store, so they don’t have to get their homes all messy, and it turned out that the Keeper Springs tote bags were a great companion for corn shucking! Put your groceries in, throw it over your shoulder, and shuck away! We were glad to help.
Whenever kids came up for a prize wheel spin, we were sure to give them extra pens for school. Unfortunately, we may have scared one little boy off who actually covered his ears as soon as we said the dreaded word! Well, we don’t think school is all bad—not when you can put a Demand Recycling bumper sticker on your folder or notebook!
On Saturday we were still in Brooklyn at the Gourmet Guild in Williamsburg. Locals were in and out for everything from cupcakes and iced coffee to “From Scratch” pet food and handcrafted soaps. Most were stopping by to get their hands on the fresh catches from Karen Ann Charters—scallops, clams, salmon, and more. Since we had some fish-eaters aboard, we knew that waterway protection would be an important topic to bring up. We had some conversations with people who like to eat good, healthy fish. So we told them how our bottled water helps the local keepers to make sure things stay that way!
Early Monday morning we showed up to hydrate the runners in the Robert C. McAvoy five-mile on the boardwalk of Long Beach, NY. It’s easy to get people to run if it’s along the beach! Many of these athletes, young and old, are locals who have lived and breathed the Atlantic Ocean their whole lives. Explaining the importance of recycling and beach clean-ups was nothing they hadn’t heard before, but they were glad to hear that they could do more to help by drinking Keeper Springs. We were also glad to help them after their runs—we had the easy job!

This upcoming week is a busy one—we’ll be at a few King Kullens across Long Island, NY! Hopefully, we’ll be at a stop near you!
