Santa Barbara Channelkeeper

The Santa Barbara Channelkeeper promotes creek and beach cleanups, marine debris patrols on the Santa Barbara Channel, advocacy, public outreach and education efforts to reduce the use of disposable shopping bags in the Santa Barbara community.

Their Mission

The Santa Barbara Channelkeeper works on the water and in communities to monitor local waterways, restore aquatic ecosystems, advocate for clean water, enforce environmental laws, and educate and engage citizens in identifying and devising solutions to local water pollution problems. They work hard to prevent the pollution of their local beaches, waterways and wetlands from urban runoff, sewage spills, agricultural operations, oil and gas production, and large municipal and industrial dischargers.
